Your Buyer Does Not Speak in Coaching Language
Oct 07, 2026Experts naturally see the deeper problem.
A copywriter sees that the client needs stronger positioning and consistent marketing. The client believes she needs a new sales page.
A strategist sees that the business model is creating burnout. The client wants to make next month’s sales.
A coach sees a long-standing pattern. The client wants to stop feeling overwhelmed before Monday morning.
People do not always buy what you know they need.
They buy what they currently want.
Your marketing has to connect the two.
What does your client actually say?
Your prospective client is probably not lying awake thinking:
“I need to activate my next-level embodiment.”
She may be thinking:
- “I made good money this year, but can I do it again?”
- “People engage with my content, but nobody buys.”
- “Everything in my business depends on me.”
- “I cannot continue working like this.”
- “I want to raise my price, but I am afraid.”
- “I know my work is valuable, but I cannot explain it.”
This is the language that belongs in your marketing.
Ask:
- What happened in her life today?
- What is she tired of repeating?
- What does she complain about privately?
- What has she already tried?
- What is she afraid will happen next?
- What would make this week feel better?
Please answer in normal language.
Translate your method into an outcome
If your work creates confidence, what does that confidence allow the client to do?
Does she make a delayed decision?
Does she raise her price?
Does she begin a difficult conversation?
Does she stop depending on constant launches?
Keep asking:
“And what becomes possible then?”
If your answer is still abstract, ask again.
We have a saying in Germany: The worm has to taste good to the fish, not to the fisherman.
You can love your method and language. But the buyer must recognize why it matters to her.
Ask yourself: How would my client describe her problem if she were speaking to a friend rather than writing marketing copy?
