Give People a Smaller First Step Into Your Work
Oct 09, 2026A long, expensive program asks a new client to trust many things at once.
She must trust your expertise, method, personality, judgment, delivery, and ability to support her over time.
If she has never experienced your work, that may be too large a first step.
A smaller paid offer can bridge the gap.
It might be:
- An audit
- A Power Hour
- A strategy session
- A diagnostic
- An offer review
- A focused intensive
The important word is focused.
You cannot solve someone’s business, finances, relationships, identity, and childhood in one hour. Please do not promise this.
You can:
- Identify her next three actions
- Diagnose one conversion problem
- Evaluate one offer
- Clarify one message
- Examine one decision
- Find one important gap in her sales process
That is specific, useful, and believable.
A first offer can qualify both sides
I see a smaller paid offer as more than a funnel.
The client experiences how you think. You learn how she communicates, whether she implements, and whether you enjoy helping her.
Afterward, both of you can make a better decision about deeper work.
If it fits, explain the next step.
If it does not fit, the client has still received a complete result. There is no need to pressure her into continuing.
This also protects your deeper program. You are not admitting people based only on a polished sales call. You have experienced what it is like to work together.
The first offer should not be a disappointing fragment. It should be a small, complete transformation.
