Stop Developing Your Offer in Isolation
Oct 06, 2026Many entrepreneurs spend weeks designing an offer nobody has been asked to buy.
They decide how many calls it needs, whether to add office hours, which bonuses to include, and where to host the content.
Then they begin selling and discover that their clients want something different.
I am not telling you to sell something you cannot deliver. You need enough clarity and structure to describe the offer responsibly.
But you do not need to finish every detail before you speak with potential buyers.
Let conversation shape the offer
Real conversations reveal:
- Which problem feels urgent
- How clients describe that problem
- What they have already attempted
- What they do not understand
- What makes the offer feel risky
- Which form of support they value
- What they do not need
You may discover that your clients want fewer calls than you planned.
They may value access to your judgment more than a large curriculum.
They may want help with one precise decision rather than an enormous transformation.
You cannot discover this while sitting alone and thinking and thinking and thinking.
Talk your way into clarity
Some entrepreneurs become clearer in conversation than in front of an empty document.
If this is you, please use it.
Ask somebody to interview you. Record the conversation with permission and answer:
- What problem do I solve?
- Why does it matter now?
- What changes after someone works with me?
- Why is my approach different?
- What can I not promise?
- Why should someone trust me?
- What would a skeptical buyer ask?
I have seen entrepreneurs struggle to write their sales copy and then tell one personal story that explains the whole offer.
Sometimes your sales page is already inside the conversation.
You do not need to manufacture a more impressive personality. You need to extract the clearest expression of what you already know.
Build enough to begin. Then let the market help you refine it.
Ask yourself: Which parts of my offer come from real client conversations—and which parts exist only in my imagination?
You may not need another person to define your work. You may need a precise outside perspective on the message you are already sending.
Inside my private Visibility & Message Diagnostic, I identify the three most important gaps in your current message, what you should stop emphasizing, and what needs to become more visible.
